Root canal therapy

Infected teeth must have the bacteria and damaged nerve inside them removed. This treatment is called Root Canal Therapy. Failure to address problems with infected teeth can lead to the loss of the tooth and abscesses in the mouth.
Despite the reputation, root canal work is not really painful. Root canal work actually relieves the pain of a badly damaged tooth. Patients feel much better after the treatment. The root canal procedure removes the infected nerve and then seals the tooth, preventing bacteria from ever being an issue again.
Having a cap (crown) on the treated tooth will provide long term protection. The tooth will then be able to function like normal.
